Karl Turner, president and founder of A La Carte Specialty Foods, has devoted nearly his entire life to supporting the shrimp industry in the Gulf of Mexico. Now, he’s packaging them up and delivering as many as he can to your local grocery store.

“My philosophy and commitment to Gulf shrimp hasn’t changed,” Turner said. “In fact, it’s more important to me now than ever before that people understand and appreciate the value of this product.”

Founded in 2003, A La Carte Specialty Foods has produced value-added, heat-and-serve seafood products sold nationally through major retail chain stores, foodservice distributors and restaurants. With lines of crawfish cakes and breaded oysters imported from China, A La Carte Specialty Food, LLC has expanded from a locally-based company to an international importer and distributor in a short period of time.

A La Carte’s new product is Sauté Your Way. Available in southern Louisiana grocery stores, the line of value-added meals combines wild-caught, nature fed Gulf shrimp and restaurant-quality sauces created by famous Chef Paul Prudhomme.
